Wow.  Just wow.  Absolutely hideous.  Love the interior, but I could never get past the exterior.  Jalopnik described it best by saying it looks like a character from Angry Birds.

What were they thinking with those bulbous head- and rear-lights? How awful looking. The interior looks pretty sweet but the exterior gives me the creeps!

I usually wait until I see the car in person before making my final decision on how it looks, but in this case I think there is no need to. This is hideous. I'll gladly stick with the current 1-Series any day.

Yeah, the current one is much better.  I think the new 5-series is going to end up the best styled out of all the new BMW's.  Great proportions.

Not digging the rear, it looks too wide and cheap. The side looks good, IMO, but the greenhouse ruins it. It's ungraceful and odd looking.

Yea. I mean they are re-releasing the B5 as the next A3 (design wise). Audis are good cars but very boring in exterior design. BMW is at least taking some chances

I looked at my sisters 118i (which is basically my car now), I see a boring but handsome and overall pleasing design. The new 1er looks like shit. Plain and simple.

By the way, my sister drives an Audi S4 now in Switzerland - her boyfriend's ride.

I could scarcely believe my eyes when I saw the first pics on Friday evening, either. The outgoing model was no oil painting, but compared to styling abonimation, it now appears really quite attractive. How BMW could get this thing so wrong is very puzzling - shape of headlights, grille, surfacing, rear lights, they are all just dreadful.

Mind you, I bet it will sell - probably even better than the E81 cars.
