No one is whining. We're just being honest with ourselves! I know for 25k I'd rather have something with more get-up and go than these two cars offer!
$25k won't buy you much these days. This car is great for such little money.

Not new, it won't. $25k is a lot of $$$$ in the used market. But it's a good alternative to the powah uber alles approach of pretty much every other coupe in this price range besides the MX-5.

No fizz?! Did you watch the video? Chris Harris looked like he was having a fucking BLAST out on the track, and even without 300 hp.

have you ever considered that there's more to a car than just power, and that adding too much hp will just ruin the balance that this car is striving for?

I was talking about taking away horsepower, not adding it. Read what I said.

I'm not agains't power. I've thought about putting a turbo on the Miata just for fun. But really more for the fun of working on the car and trying to make it go faster more then the actual going faster part. So I'm in no way agains't "more power."
That said, cars like these can be a fucking blast and power isn't everything. For me in a car like that it's not even all that important. Sure I wouldn't want it to go 0-60 in 10 seconds. But it's won't need 300+ hp for me to like it too.
Give the option at least.  That's all anyone is asking for.  If the car was available with a turbo and 275 hp for $30K, I think everyone would be happy.

My point exactly!
On the road to my cabin I rarely got the C6 over 60 and I was still grinning ear to ear. I'm pretty sure these cars are a ball but I know before long I would crave more power.

I haven't driven a C6, but I have driven a 370Z.  It is boring unless you're beating the shit out of it.

$30K, 275HP, turbo?

Or turbo kit. Actually, supercharger kit.

Yes, while still handling like Camaros and 'Stangs. I'd rather drive a GT86 on any track with corners than a Camaro.

I think you have that backwards. A tight track would leave the Mustaro tongue tied. The Mustaro's advantages would come into play on high speed tracks.

IMO, freaking out about the power this thing makes is just dumb bench racing.

Nah, it's just called personal preference.

True and that goes both ways! This car is praised just like a 302 'Stang, M3 or ZL1 is for the handling.

For all I know, I'll hate it. Maybe I don't fit or something. I'm sure not gonna bitch about it until I know for sure, though.

I just don't have an interest in non-turbo cars.  I've driven many cars.  The turbocharged variants are always more lively and interesting to me (for example, the Kappa cars).  I'm not bashing it, just expressing my preference based on my predicted usage.  I'm not sure why this riles people up so much.

Because you're thumbing your nose up at a car no one has driven, and those who have driven it say it's truly amazing to drive. Then you clamor for a turbo...on a car who's base model hasn't even been really sold or established yet.

It's like seeing a Ferrari and saying "Eh, I saw a Mondial once. It looked pretty boring. The new 458 Italia probably is totally boring to drive"

Eye of the Tiger

This car is unpossible, anyway, since Toyota doesn't make fun.

Oh my christ... pointless.

S204STi

That's easily the best sounding 4-banger I've ever heard, one definite point in its favor.  And the handling is obviously great; he was hanging out something nice on some of those turns.

I just want the option for more power if I want it.

Rupert

Then buy you a turbo. Like others were saying, there will be a turbo kit within a month of the car's release.

Nah man, even if you do fit in it at sea level, at 9,000 feet, you will expand due to the decrease in atmospheric pressure, and therefore not fit in the car.

You should totally hate it and bitch about it right now. ;)

The number don't lie! This is not a "fast" car by any means! I can't understand why you (mostly Miata) guys are so upset that we want a lil more power! No one asked for a 500hp V8 in the front of this car but some people (myself) like a car with a lil more umph! No one is rite or wrong here guys!

The pressure at 9,000 feet above sea level is generally around 730 millibars - not enough to defy the laws of physics.
