Vitzes are sold at Toyota Netz dealers. The tag line for Netz is "make the style". Granted, the Belta isn't sold at Netz dealers, but oh well.

WTF is a Vitz?  And WTF is a Toyota Netz dealer?

EDIT:  Never mind I found out the Vitz is what it's called in Japan.  We're not in Japan though. :nutty:

Talk about your obscure references. You title your thread about a dealer network that 2 people in the USA have heard of that sells a car that isn't your car.  :hammerhead:

Vitz is what the Yaris hatchback is called in Japan. The sedan is "Belta."

FWIW, Vitz is probably a better name than Yaris.

Secret Chimp

Vitz sounds like a vest made out of crackers.

It's not that obscure....Netz's tagline is on every ad of models that are sold there, and even go as far as different badging from other Toyota Models. I didn't realize the Belta wasn't a Netz Toyota until a few days ago.

Some mods on it, I don't particularly care for, but for the most part I think it looks cool. Just because you like your stuff as stock as they come, don't hate me because I don't mind a little low and a little mods.

I'll give him credit, that's a pretty cool looking Yaris. Seems fairly tastefully modded.

Honda used to do something similar by selling it's cars through three different sales networks in Japan: Verno, Clio and Primo.  Why three different chains of dealers each selling their own unique models?  Beats the hell out of me!  Seems to me like it would cause a lot of confusion among consumers since the cars sold at all three dealers were badged as Hondas.

As if that weren't enough, Mazda had four sales channels in Japan.  In addition to the Mazda brand, there was also Autozam, Efini and Eunos.  There was also the stillborn Amati brand which was to have been Mazda's answer to Lexus and Infiniti, but the project was killed at the last minute.  One car that was to have been sold as an Amati did make it to the US, badged as the Mazda Millenia.  There was also the short-lived Xedos, an upmarket sub-brand sold through Mazda dealers in Europe.

For some inexplicable reason, Toyota still does this.  Want to buy a new Toyota in Japan?  Well, I hope you're not a fan of one-stop shopping!  That's because if you want to see everything Toyota has to offer in Japan, you will have to visit no fewer than five different chains of dealers!  First, there's the "Toyota Store".  Sounds simple enough, but those only have some of Toyota's model range.  If you want to see more, you'll also need to visit the "Toyopet Store".  BTW, 2o6's "Belta" is actually a Toyopet.  Then there's the "Toyota Corolla Store".  No, they don't sell just only Corollas.  They have lots of other models, too, including the comically named Ractis, Probox, Kluger (our Highlander) and the familiar dishwater dull Camry, plus many others.  The "Netz Store" is the fourth dealer chain and used to be called the "Toyota Vista Store" and before that was known as the "Toyota Auto Store"  Got all that?  Last but not least is Lexus, and we all know what those are.  Just to make things even more confusing, some models are sold through more than one dealer chain!

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!  MY HEAD IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After doing a bit of research, it seems 2o6's Belta is sold at both the Toyopet Store and the Toyota Corolla Store.

I bet it makes more sense for Japanese people. Have you seen their magazines before? Their brains are capable of processing what we perceive as clusterfucks.

New car that you really like does that to you.  I got through break-in on the Wolfsburg in about a week--and this was before I had a 100+mile daily commute.
