The Mini's dashboard is totally un-ergonomic, though. The Yaris's gauge cluster is high up and angled towards the driver.

Center gauges piss me off, especially in Toyotions.

It does leave a nice emptiness directly in front of the driver. It's really ergonomic, but it does take a bit of time to get used to.

i think it's much easier to read as you don't have to refocus , it's in your line of sight already

Hurry up and get one of those cold-air intakes. You will be impressed.

I'd rather get suspension parts. The rear end steps out a lot easier than Focus. CR complained about this.

Your and idiot if you think the rear end steps out too easily. You have no idea what you're doing with suspension, so just leave it alone.

Too easily? I think it's wonderful.

But if that's how it is, why change it?

all you gotta do is cut that coily thing right?

I want to amplifiy it. The springs are so freaking soft; loads of body roll.

By amplify, I mean not make it feel so sloppy.

Been there, doing that. Do what I do, not what I did. Our cars are like the same. You live in Ohio, where the roads are piles of shit. Stiff springs lowering will be miserable, so of course you don't want. I want OEM Accent SE sprimgs and shocks because 40% stiffer than the GS trim, but still OE quality - though the  parts are $700. You could use better shocks, a +1 on the wheels/tires, and mebbey sway bars. I would do shocks n sways on mine if there were any good ones. Pretty sure Yarii have a much better aftymarket.

I still think you should get a Maserati Biturbo as a second car. Just in case the Toyota breaks down or something.

Great way to meet chicks. You're trying to start the car and some hot babe walks over and asks if she can help you. You know what happens next. Those Biturbos have a comfy backseat...  :ohyeah:

Six month check in

I'm about to hit 10,000 miles in my ownership pretty soon. I quit JJ's, so my driving is going to go way down, and in turn wear and tear on the car.

- clockspring is still broken, found the part for $150

- I need new tires

- The paint on the front bumper is peeling badly; must be a Toyota thing. My brother's 2002 Corolla has almost no paint on the entire front fascia, hood, and part of the roof.

Otherwise, I'm pretty happy. I want to do some handling mods when I get the car paid off.

CJ

Our Camry never had paint peeling issues.

TBR

My brother's Corolla had really awful paint. Might just be a problem with cheaper models or maybe with cars kept outdoors most of the time.

Soup DeVille

Is it light blue?

For some reason light blue paint always seems to peel.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

My brother's was a dark blue '98 (so same generation).

Am I remembering correctly that your front bumper had been a replacement part? Do you know if it's OEM or a replica?
