But what about all the bad reviews of the new Exploder?

Makes fleet sales all the more important.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Been good for the interceptor. The state bought a shitload and I read that the CHP is replacing all of its CV's with this as well. Will be curious to see how they hold up.

Laconian

How can you get rid of a classic car like the CV?

No, but honestly. Even if it received poor reviews I'm sure it's 10000% better than that archaic POS. I am also interested to see how they fare.

It looks good, at least. The grille is very Raptor-like.

There's only been one bad review, MT, and IMO their review made no sense.

CJ

Get rid of those hubcaps.  They're ghastly.

IIRC, C&D didn't have much good to say about the Explorer in their early reviews.

Yeah, seems healthy to me.

Except that it probably weighs 6000 pounds with police equipment. Needs moar Ecoboost.

The loss of the CVPI is a tragedy. The CV was so bad that no civilians ever bought it. It's easy to see a cop. Pretty soon you won't know what to look for.

Locally, seems most forces have moved away from the CVPI.  Better than half the state troopers here are driving Tahoes now.  And a lot of local departments are running Chargers.  I think the county Sheriff's office is the last one still predominantly running CVPIs.

That's happening around here too.  Now you have to watch out for every blandly colored American car.

I'm in Florida and passed a Boca Raton PD officer yesterday who had someone pulled over in a mid-90s Buick they outfitted with strobes. Talk about a ghost car.

Not hubcaps.

They are "wheel covers" and they are terrible.

These are hubcaps.

Which should be legally required on all police vehicles for eternity.

Nevermind. I thought they were actually wheels, but obviously I was wrong. At least the steel wheels underneath aren't completely obvious.

Yeah, Fords steel wheels look pretty decent actually.

We just got one in, too, along with a new Ford Taurus...um, I mean "Ford Interceptor Sedan." Neither are marked or equipped yet, and I have yet to drive either (nor will I, most likely, except by pure chance or a short spin around the block once they get into rotation...they'll end up assigned to one of the old guys while I continue to drive 8-10 year old pos CVPI's). I don't particularly like the look of either, the room in the sedan, or see the point of a non-4x4 suv for standard patrol, but I don't make these decisions.

We are going 100% charger now except for K9 which are all Tahoe.  When we started our complete change over Taurus hadn't been tested so we couldn't order them by contract obligation.  Chargers have been almost bullet proof except for a few miner issues that got worked out by 2010.  New ones (2011 and 12s) havent' even hiccuped yet.  BTW Greg I like the striping package- looks professional but approachable.  There's somethign about that car though that's not very intimidating and a little to "polite."   I like police cars to be a little intimidating but still feel approachable for bad guys.
