What do you guys think of the 2013 Fusion's styling?

Personally, I think it's an attractive car. Does styling still sell cars?

Raza

It's nice.  I think the old Fusion looked better though.

I don't like it nearly as much in person as I did in photos.

However, it does look new and modern, which is the point.  I always thought the old Fusion looked old.

The old Fusion's styling was stale and quite bland.

Love it. The styling beats the hell out of the competitors and besides the fact that I like it better than everything else, I wouldn't be put off because the styling causes it to lose an inch or two here and there on the inside vs the competition.

I'd never buy one, but it's definitely a fine car.

Colonel Cadillac

I like the fact that Ford is really differentiating its products from the rest of the mainstreamers.

Now that we know what it's like to own an Infiniti, we can't go back to mainstream family sedans anymore.  I love the new Fusion and apparently it's a sporty fun drive, but I won't go less than an Infiniti G, BMW 3 Series, M-B C-Class, etc ever again.

Funny, I went the opposite direction.  Had a Mercedes, and now I'm turned off on big luxury sedans.  I'm tired of big, fat luxury cars that think they know better than I do.  Sure, the A4 or 3 series are interesting, but other than that, it's very hard to justify their added expense over something like a GTI.  VW is making it harder to buy one of their cars now with the new Jetta and Passat, but the Golf is still great.

Although, most compact and midsize sedans, luxury or mainstream, have some fatal flaw that makes me not want to buy one.  Not much appeals to me that's on the market anymore.

I don't like it as much as I thought I would when I saw it in person. I thought it looked great in pictures but not as much now face to face. That said it's still good looking and one of the better cars in it's class.

It needs a bit more 1974 Ford LTD and then it would be perfect.  :mrcool:

Seriously, it looks good. Reminds me of the current Euro Mondeo which is a good-looking car.

Well, didn't you have a big lumbering Benz though?  The G, 3, C, and ATS are all smaller, very nimble and very fun cars.  The 3 series gas pedal is still a deal breaker for me, the transmission in the G could be better, the C could have better steering, and the ATS could have a much better CUE, but overall, I would take any of them over a mainstream FWD sedan.

Heh, I don't think of the G as a small car... I think of it as an evolution of a muscle car.

I don't think I'll ever own ANY FWD car again. With the exception of a winter beater I'm strictly RWD/AWD.

Yeah, I had an E class, but I bet that's not much bigger than something like a G.  And even my same size class Passat was much, much, much more fun to drive with 50 less horsepower, 15" wheels, and a 5 speed automatic.

These entry lux RWD cars have too much weight on them to be fun and truly nimble.  Sure, they have higher limits, but I know for sure that a C class wasn't more fun than my MkV Wolfsburg.

The small, light, and fun FWD car done right is really an amazing ride.  Something like a GTI, my old Wolfsburg, a Mini; all of those are going to be more fun than 200 horsepower 3500 pound rear drive sedan with luxury aspirations.

Enthusiasts especially get caught up in drive wheels, when in reality, it's not nearly as big a piece of the fun pie that people make it out to be.  I always use the Mini and the Crown Victoria as my absurd drive wheel example, but there more applicable comparisons where the FWD car is more fun, like my E320 to my Passat.

You need to drive a G.  It might be heavy, but it's a lot of fun and has the best steering feel of any of the cars I test drove.  In fact, the only car I have driven with better steering feel was my SVT Focus.

EDIT:  You can't compare that E-Class to any of the entry-lux cars from today man.  That E-class was not geared towards performance like these new cars are.

187.9" long and 3,628 pounds?  No, not anything resembling a small car.  For comparison, my old E class was 189.4" long and 3,624 pounds.  Not even 2" between the cars.  The G is almost 10" longer than an E90 3 series.

I've driven a first gen G35, several 350Zs, and a 370Z.  If I haven't been impressed yet, no offense, but I doubt the G37 is going to be the one that does it.

The early G and the Z don't drive the same as the current G.  You need to drive one.  If it wasn't fun, there is no way I would have bought one.
