Which american super sedan?

Spirit R/T
Taurus SHO

Spirit R/T

Taurus SHO

I am pretty sure the Taurus is going to run away with this poll here, but the R/T has a special place in my heart. I had a "Mexican" version with 160hp when I was 18-20 and loved that car. Then my dad got a "real" R/T with a manual and the 224hp Lotus-headed engine. That thing was incredibly quick and agile. I blasted everything else that was available in Mexico back then. I remember a high speed run at 240kph in that car coming back from Vallarta. I didn't drive anything faster until I got the E46 M3 15 years later.

SHO. Not because of the car. Because that thing is a POS. But when you opened that shit hood and looked at that motor.......

2o6

I gave it to the Spirit, mostly because it love those old Turbo Mopars.

MX793

Gotta go with the Yamahammer.  That motor was just so sweet.

One of the greatest looking intake manifolds ever made.

I hate the SHO's intake manifold.
First time for everything. I've never known someone who thought that.

I voted for the Taurus SHO to make AutobahnSHO happy.

I guess I'm the only one. The manifold looks like a bunch of noodles.

Let me guess, you also hate the equal-length header pipes on the Shelby Cobra 427...

It's called intake resonance tuning.  The length of the tubes are matched to the engine for increased volumetric efficiency (moar powar!).  The SHO also had a variable length intake (one of the first production cars to feature such), which allowed for a fatter power spread.

Nothing a black plastic cover couldn't fix.

I'm sorry if the intake resonance tuning doesn't visually give me a boner.

Don't get me wrong, I love the SHO. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could. Plus how often are you going to look at the intake of a car?

I just don't like how it looks and that's not saying anything about how much I like the car.

If my intake manifold looked like that,  I would pop the hood every time I got out and leave it open until the next time I drove.

Then hopefully no one steals your battery and pees in your coolant.

What kind of third-world hole do you live in such that people steal car batteries and pee in coolant?

280Z Turbo

Pee works as coolant? I have to pee and the Focus needs coolant. It's like $7 a gallon for that shit.

280Z Turbo

I voted Spirit R/T.

They're both awful looking, so I picked the one that's faster.

93JC

As for the poll, my head says Taurus SHO but the Spirit R/T is tugging on my heartstrings. My old Spirit ES served me well. Deep down I know that the chassis is totally inadequate for that much power though.
