Looks decent, but at the same time, too much like something I've seen before.

I don't like the rising beltline and high trunk but I will overlook that bc it looks awesome otherwise.

I like it from the A piller forward. The profile is not flattering at all, IMO.

If something happened to my RX-8 then this would probably be the car I'd replace it with.

Raza

I miss the blobeye and the hawkeye.  This looks pretty good, but not as good as those two.

Seriously??  The Aston Martin/ Ford Fusion grille shape????

Otherwise I really like it.

ChrisV

it's not even close to an Aston grille shape. And really, neither is the Fusion. The Aston grille doesn't merely have a notch at the upper corners, it actually steps down (and has since the '50s) and then goes out under the headlights. The Fusion and the Subi both have the headlights go out FROM the grill, whixch isn't as wide as the Aston and has no stepdowns at the upper outside edges.

if anything, it's closer to the Jag XF:

But even then, it's more angular.

I agree with you about the XF/WRX, but I think it is pretty clear the fusion shares a VERY similar grille design to modern Astons:

Some of that side surfacing is resolved really, really strangely. Reads really strange from some abgles near the middle of the greenhouse.

Cookie Monster

I don't like the Bangle Butt and the tiny rear window. I wish they'd just get rid of some of the side surfacing or tone it down a bit, make the belt line straight and cut off that weird bangle 7 series ass thing at the top of the trunk.

I don't mind this. I just wish the beltline was a little lower and had a bit larger windows.

Keep the exact styling, add a nice interior, subtract the usual imprezza feel of econobox, and I will rock this...

Yes, with the RX cars gone this would be the only thing out there I could buy really. I hope they don't make the STi one look too riced out with a spoiler large enough for a family to have lunch off of.

MX793

Unlike the last couple of generations of Impreza (and WRX), this one actually looks like it was designed to be a sedan rather than a hatchback design converted to a sedan.  It looks all the better for it.

I wonder if they will make the sedan version more street bred and a hatchback version for the rally crowd?

Looking closer at this and I think most of all my hopes will be squashed with the production version... no way subaru can pull off those front and rear overhangs that make it look so good with their awd system.

Keep hope alive. My 8 has almost 50K on it and by the time these things come out it will have almost 100K. And we all know I'll need three motors by then so I'll need something to buy! This is the only thing coming out that I even give a poo about.
