I'm not sure how that is relevant - econo car with too much motor vs. dedicated sports(ish) car.

Ha, ha! You strap yourself into a vintage 911 or Countach or 308 or F40 or w/e without TC, SC and ABS and let's see how long it takes you to pile it into a wall trying to drive it at more than about 5/10 ths ;).

I've driven a vintage 911.  Hard.  Sideways, even.  I'm still here.

These cars are way more relevant to Joe Sixpack + public roads than a million dollar 1000HP Ferrari

A lot of cars that are newer still don't have all those drivers aids.

My Miata, Evo and Z have no traction control/stability control or any other drivers aids other than ABS.

I think all new cars nowadays have to have traction and stability control, right? Looks like I'll never buy a newer car ever.

I was just pointing out that one doesn't have to go 30 years back to find a performance car that left the driver up to his own devices.

Yeah, even my '07 doesn't have anything but ABS. I think it's 2010 or 2011 cars and newer that have to have all that stuff.

I thought all Evos had a multi-mode traction control system, no?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

It has an active diff with a few different modes. This just controls the center diff. There is no traction or stability control.

BMW has destroyed whatever good feelings I had for the word GT

Hmmm, I figured Hyundai.

Calling them GT doesn't make them GTs any more than it makes the Elantra GT one.
