I love the C6 and it still hasn't aged a bit, but the C7 has so much road presence. It just looks like the king of the road (and has the performance to back that up)

Especially the wide body versions of the C7! Oh and I agree about the C6!

I find the C7 to be a bit too low + wide + gashy. The C6 is peak Corvette design IMO. I'd prob still go for a C7 due to the much nicer interior and better performance.
It's a race car Sporty!! It's not suppose to have the same center of gravity as a Versa.

QuoteCounting down to the most regret-filled model, the cars are:

Jeep Compass
Nissan Pathfinder
Dodge Dart
Chrysler 200
Dodge Grand Caravan
Nissan Frontier
Acura ILX

  Chrysler 200!  I'm surprised at the ILX.  Figured someone shopping for an Acura would be pretty picky and not be surprised at getting something bad.

I think it's a matter of expectation versus reality -- they thought they were getting something luxury, and realized too slowly that it's actually just an economy car. Who are all these people, though, who needed to buy a Jeep Compass to realize it's a bad idea?

I just spent an hour watching this video (it costs 11 bucks). I love this guys and for an ///M freak like me it was fantastic. They compare every gen M3 + 1M and M2 back to back.

Even though most of you think of ///M cars as uber expensive maintenance ticking bombs, as car guys you'd probably enjoy it too. Very highly recommended.

Is this the Icon movie? The link isn't working on my phone.

If it is, those guys were on Matt Farah's podcast the other week talking about it. Sounds really cool, I've been meaning to watch it.

My ex had one. He did a "voluntary lease turn in".

Curious to see what that goes for. Bodywork looks horrible but the concept is A-1. We need more sports cars like that.

Someone should just make a frame and mount kits for a bunch of different engines.

Those Ultralite S2000s are pretty expensive to assemble.  Exocet is probably the best we're going to get.

Damm, did not know until today that BMW had a 7 Series prototype running a V16 in the late 80s. 408 bhp. Manual transmission as well.

Apparently they decided the V12 would have enough potential.

They also experimented with putting a V12 into the Z3.

They were not able to get the understeer under control.

Eye of the Tiger

How to fix understeer: floor it.

Yeah
It seems only GM was daring enough to stagger tires to wider in front on a mainstream production car.
It makes sensex though. I may do that to Versa S for the autox tires.

I like the idea that both GM and Ford are introducing the new joint 10 speed in their most bad-ass vehicles.

With that many gears what does it matter?

With the 9 speed in my Discovery, I have no clue what gear it's in, but it keeps revs between 1300 and 1700 under normal city and highway driving.  Surprising good mileage.

Just to see what the spread is and how each ratio corresponds to a 4/5/6 speed.

I'm curious about the mileage benefit.  Are there any hard numbers between the two?  Like, an identical vehicle where the only difference was they put in a 9-speed over a 6-speed from MY to MY?

My mom's Q5 has an 8-speed auto.  It just feels like soooo many gears!  But it does its job just fine.  A bit weird to get used to in manual mode.  I get to 6th and think I'm done and I'm like why the funk are the Revz so high??  Oh yeah, 'cause there're two more gears.

CaminoRacer

It said there was a 16% gain in fuel efficiency for the Raptor. That should be about 3 mpg better.

But the Raptor also got a new engine to go with the 10 speed, so it's hard to know how much was the engine and how much was the trans.

Yeah, I don't really see it gaining 16% real world economy just because of the transmission. Or I'm just a pessimist.
