Just be careful that the wastegate doesn't stick closed and blow up shit.

Still has the mower deck and bag, so I assume I really can mow my lawn at 150 MPH https://www.carthrottle.com/post/watch-the-honda-mean-mower-hit-100mph-in-six-seconds/

My car is basically always in boost as soon as any throttle is applied at all above roughly 2k rpm.

His car is likely similar.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this.  Any boost part throttle would be killed before reaching the cylinders by the mostly closed throttle plate. Part throttle boost would also mean your car would need to run richer air fuel ratios - which would make no sense for cruising and low loads.  It would also require the wastegate to be closed and thus putting back pressure on the engine

I can cruise at 75-80mph in the Alfa with no boost.

How is this such a hard concept? Boost is boost. The throttle plate does not kill boost unless it is completely closed.

Uh, do you think boost is an on/off switch? HP/Torque is generated from both the engine and the turbine in these cars. Generally, these smaller engines+turbo don't have enough HP/Torque to keep the vehicle moving at freeway speeds* at least above 70MPH.

Are you SURE it's not in boost while cruising? (I don't doubt it; the 2.0L engine is bigger and likely has more torque and HP standard over say the 1.4L in my car)

Unless your commute is totally flat this sounds like a lie

Kia def goes into boost on my commute at similar speeds. There were some parts of my commute yesterday where it couldn't maintain 80MPH

Say if your cruising at no boost, the throttle might be open at 20%.  Boost or no boost you still need the same power which means you still need the same air & fuel - so introduce 5psi of boost and the throttle just closes to 10% to create a restriction.

But it will only boost if there is enough exhaust pressure to spool up the turbo, which is basically dependent on the throttle opening.

Since wastegate are now electronically controlled, there needs to be enough exhaust AND the ecu needs to be calling for boost

Modern ecus generally look at the throttle as a torque request and then figure out the most efficient way to achieve that torque - be it with boost or without boost

Correct.  Some states mandate a dealership warranty any used vehicle sold for a period of between 30 days and 6 months, but that varies by locale.

Yes, but the scrubbers have a soft side and a rubber side. The soft side is really...well...soft. I don't think it damages the paint. But what do I know?
