I've had a bunch of slow leaks (1 in the protege5, 1 in the Miata, and 1 in the s2k). Don't think I've had a tire completely lose air like that that fast.

FYI, they can probably fix it, so there's no need to get new wheels and tires, though I'm sure you will anyway.

AAA will drive to your house, remove the tire, and plug it.  I've got at least three AAA plugs in my summer tires.

I had 2 flats in the Jeep that went down to the rim in about 1 minute while driving...Did a tire change in a bank parking lot and one more adventurous on a back road with no shoulder.

Oddly enough, the Jeep is a big enough of a lard ass that a dead flat really doesn't feel that noticeable while driving

Yeah, pretty much the same for me.  Plenty of low pressure situations but never a completely flat tire.

I did once have a blow out. Luckily at the time I owned a B6 Audi A4. At that time the spare tire was actually a fifth wheel with normal tire, so I just put the new wheel/tire on and got the blowout replaced later. Made me wish that all cars could come with a 5th wheel (or even the space for a fifth wheel).

MrH

So, I've never had a truck before and had to use the spare. What a cool system!

You go to the back hatch, pop open a compartment in the cargo area. There's a bag with pieces for the jack. You assemble this big metal T shape bar. In the bumper, there's a hole you slide it through. The square end fits into a slot and then you start turning it. There's a pulley with a chain on it that lowers the spare all the way to the ground. Unhook the spare, put it on, and then you can pull the other wheel back up with the pulley.

Is this how every truck does spares?! Am I an idiot for thinking this was cool?

If you deal with rusty trucks much, that cable on the pulley snaps as you're lowering it, and then you find out the spare is flat anyways because water collects around the rim and rusts the bead away until it won't seal.

BroRunner wheels will be here Wednesday now. Gotta call tire discounters. I think they'll patch my one tire, buy back my used tires for probably like $100, reuse my tpms sensors, mount and balance bfg ko2 tires, and give me back my stock wheels. Then I sell my stock wheels. Expensive moves, but finally that'll be done. Then just need to install the coilovers in the garage and I'll be done for awhile.

Minivans sometimes the bolt to turn the pulley to lower the cable is inside the passenger space somewhere.

Current Odyssey donut is in a compartment between the front and middle seats, you have to lift bunches of carpet out of the way.

I should see if my spare is still intact.  That is, will it still lower/raise in the event I need it.
