The new mustang schnozz is rough.  Look at how much bigger the front overhang is compared to the Camaro.  Everything looks tighter and more buttoned up on the Camaro IMO.

The angle of those photos isn't helping.  The Mustang is being shot from an angle that is slightly forward of a dead-on profile, which makes the overhang appear larger.  The Camaro has less front overhang, but it's not as much as it appears in those photos.  My avatar is a true profile shot and it doesn't look nearly as much as the other photo.

The nose is my least favorite part of the S550.  Something about it just seems a little off.  It's not ugly, per se, but it's not as attractive as it could be.

It just goes on and on.  The worst part:  It looks like it bulges out even wider once you get past the front tires.  I don't like the look of it at all.  Then you've got the stupid fish gill LEDs too.  Woof.

The latest Mustang, to me, just looks too parts-bin-y.  Those headlights, for example, could be Taurus headlights. The car doesn't necessarily scream "I'm a Mustang" like the ones before it. Swap the fascias and you have yourself a 2-door Taurus.

I haven't noticed the Mustang overhang before. It's like a double/triple chin in that photo.

It's probably a little pronounced in that photo, since it's not a straight on profile shot.

Not as bad in a real profile shot:

Mustangs have always been a little slapped together. From the 80s up through 04 I wouldn't say any Rustang really had a distinctive "look". The Foxbody had headlights like an F150 and taillights like a Tempo. The following two only had distinguished taillights. The 05-14 was distinctive but IMO they all looked really cheap. This one has an unfortunate nose, but it feels like a premium product. For a car that can hit $45 or so thousand in a midlevel trim I think that's important. You can fix ugly, you can't fix thoroughly cheap.

05-14 were distinctive because they were retro.

I think it is just the angle. From a normal side shot its overhang is not much different than the Camaro, I don't think.

For sure. I've seen plenty in real life and it looks fine. A bit more of a overhang than the Camaro, however. Camaro is BMW-level in that regard.

IMO the new Camaro looks amazing. yeah, the windows are small but the Mustang just looks awkward.

That is a very flattering color, because it hides that awful, cheap, aftermarket looking rear window. I'm also thinking this one is lowered too. In a light color at stock height they look awful. The front half of the old ones is much better but the back is terrible.

They should've just struck with this design/style...

+1  All the silly details that they had on the previous Camaro is all smoothed out now.  No more fake gills on the door sills, no cheap looking taillights.  Looks so much cleaner.

Make no mistake I loved the previous Camaro, and it looked better in some ways (or at least more daring) but the new Camaro is indeed more cohesive in design, esp. the front/grill. It also looks more precise (i.e., not only smaller) vs the battleship-ish presence of the previous car.

Yes it does! And you can tell at first sight that it's much smaller than the 5th Gen car.

Saw a new bright Yellow Camaro convertible up here with the top down the other day.  My first thought was, Liberace's bathtub...I guess it's just me though .

That's the GT500, so it's lower than the GT.
