The Chevy is sort of a truck with 395 HP. Can't be all bad.  ;)

"poor business decision enthusiast car", lawl.

Saturn Sky. Solstice underpinnings are a bummer, but god, the bodywork is just stunning.

I voted Sky. The SSR with the LS2 and 6 speed is interesting but they weighed about 12 tons.

Ya gotta admire Lutz for bullying those pencil pushers into building stupid shit.

Yeah, roofless ladder frame = chassis flexion ahoy.

Why aren't the Pontiac G8 or GTO on this list? The G8 was a decent car!

Exactly. Too good.

Oh. So we are to pick the stupidest Lutzmobile? SSR, the car designed by FOGS for FOGs.

G8 and GTO aren't "lutzmobiles"

The Holden Calais was already an established but boring car in OZ

IDK the SSR was cool, and a fuckload better than the 2002 Thunderbird.

I voted Solstice vert but part of me regrets not voting SSR.

Truth be told, us FOGS (fucking old guys?), well me anyway, like the original waaaay better, but still, 395 HP? OK.

Every time it's a nice convertible weather day, I see at least one Sky or Solstice out....with the roof up, because the top procedure is too fucking cumbersome for them to deal with it.

It's the worst. I considered a turbo one at one point. the second I saw how the top works, I was out.

The Skystace's top isn't that hard to use. I've driven and use the top on both the Sky and Solstice. Not the most ideal, but it's easy enough

Not sure I'd go that far.  The first couple of model years, the SSR was a complete dud.  4800 lbs, 300 hp, and a 4AT.  Slow, handled and rode like a truck (a flimsy truck), got truck fuel economy, but couldn't do any truck stuff either.

It's literally the worst manual top I've ever used.  It's more of a hassle than taking the roof panel off a targa top Corvette.  In the car, then out of the car, then back in the car, then out of the car, then back in again.  Miata, MR-2, and C5 Corvette are much easier to deal with.

For the people buying it, all the truck stuff it needed to do was look like a truck.

I voted Solstice. I still really dig that car. I see them around occasionally and they still look better than just about any other convertible IMHO. I feel like I should go buy one (they aren't even that expensive anymore) but I never get around to it.

And the SSR is a convertible because it was the modern, warrantied version of these:

Yes, convertible hot rod trucks are a thing, and have been for a long time.
Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

CaminoRacer

I don't think I've seen one of those in a few years. Ford deuce roadster pickups are usually what I think of when I hear convertible truck.

Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?
