Well this would have less overlap then Renault and FCA, although the Fiat and Peugeot parts would have direct overlap.

If it means bringing the 208 and 2008 to the US....yum.

It could work, it's not like Fiat small and medium are worth a damn.

Why can't some miracle happen to bring Renault over instead

So much prettier than Peugeot

Megane > 30whatever

If it keeps FCA alive, it'll be great.  I'd hate to see it go bankrupt.  The more different auto manufacturer options, the more interesting the automotive landscape.  Jeep and Ram are probably what's keeping FCA still kicking.

I'm in San Diego for a conference and it's the fifth something time I've rented a Chrysler 300 V6. This is such an old school nice daily highway cruiser.  Gets 20 mpg on regular unleaded.  I don't know how it would stand up over time reliability wise but I'm glad it's out there.

They aren't complete garbage, but they are so much nicer with a Hemi.

I don't think FCA is doing badly, solely because of Jeep.

Can't wait to buy a brand New Plymouth Horizon next year!

Have you guys seen the 508 sedan? It's beautiful. I doubt I'd ever buy anything from this merger (except lease a Giulia QF if I had the means), but I'm glad it's happening.

What overlap? PSA doesn't really have a 500 and a Panda equivalent

I've been reading about this merger and how the French govt squashed the prior potential merger between Renault and FCA.  The French govt also holds a stake in PSA but may be more willing this time around due to Renault's poor financial showing this last year.

The articles say Peugeot wants to sell cars in the US again.

If that ever happens wonder would they use existing Chrysler/Dodge dealerships or build new ones.

Considering the Fiat independent dealers -what do they call them again? Galleries?  - were such a failure I would hope the former.

I remember reading a story about a dealer who converted his Hummer location into a FIAT dealership. I wonder if he is on the phone to get onboard the Peugeot train

Still pissed it's not Renault. The Grand Scenic is a sexy ass minivan

They have a 1.6L (181 hp) petrol engine or a choice of diesels: 1.5L (131hp) & a 2.0L (161hp). There's also a hybrid 225hp.

I think with, "americanizing" cars, European manufacturers need to build the cars more or less around the a/c & cabin heat. Then think about the high mileages & continental distances we deal with.

Would a new Peugeot idle for hours okay in 100F Houston traffic?

Speculation in the German media back when PSA bought Opel, was that one of the prime motivators behind the acquisition was that Opel has experience in building cars for the US market. If accurate Opel may now find itself irrelevant.

FCA has the Pentastar and the new 2.0T. Hopefully PSA's FWD platform can accommodate them... otherwise, LOL

I think it could work if they shift to FWD platforms, but yeah maybe. :/

They just put a shitload of money into the Giorgio platform

I'm still greedily hoping they move the Charger/Challenger to it
