Realistically, speeding's almost not worth it. Unless you're really sweating for minutes, you don't save that much time.

People don't really speed to save time.  They speed because driving fast is more fun than driving at the speed limit.
A good friend will come bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, DAMN...that was fun!

I speed for both reasons. Going 10 - 15 over on the freeway for 8 hours can save 30 min to an hour.

25-30 over is better on both counts...

100 mph for 8 hours isn't really a great idea, fatigue-wise.

Road trips are the only time it's logically worth it.

It'd be cool if you could somehow take the roof off while you cruise.

Speed_Racer

Vegas to LA is monotonous...I speed (100mph) to get it over with quicker. Slow lane is doing about 90 so it doesn't really matter.

And hotrodalex's parking ticket just reminded me of this one time had to fight a BYU parking ticket entirely in spanish. The resolutions officer learned it long ago and wanted to practice when he found out I went to Argentina.

I got it down from $25 to $5, so I was happy.

He'd need to buy a convertible for that.

Nice, I'll have to remember to start off in a foreign language next time I talk to an officer here.

Exactly.  The velocity and illegality both add an edge of fun to an otherwise boring drive.

Done got caught!

But my charming personality and "yes, sir" attitude got me out of another ticket.

Good thing, too, because it would have been for the lamest speeding I did all day (13 over in a 40).

Haha, it's funny when you're doing all this crazy shit and then get busted for something lame.
