Corolla has been around since 1968, and, as stated above, the car in question is not a Corolla.

Nope, not a Dasher. (The Dasher was replaced by Quantum in 1980, which was replaced by Passat in 1990 in North America. Back in Europe the Dasher and Quantum were both known as Passat)
