I spent time today organizing my outstanding tickets.  I'm not sure if Dave will be disappointed or impressed but the number is...

Definitely.   Moving violations or parking tickets?  Cale must have a suspended license with all those outstanding tickets.  He makes your driving record look good, Eddie.

Every single one is from the two weeks I had to drive the Subaru un-registered/un-inspected while I replaced the hard brake line on my truck.  The gamble did not work out well for me.

Hey hey I haven't gotten a ticket since driving to the last GTG, and that ended up becoming some NY state charge that didn't have an equivalent in Ontario so it doesn't even come up in my record  :praise:

So I think the last ticket on my record might be from ~2010/2011

Apparently not.  It seems you got at least one ticket every day.  Couldn't you course-correct before you built up that many?  These aren't even fun tickets.  Just a fucking drain.

They're from 4 different courts, and yes I got repeat tickets from two of the courts over the course of a week too.

It might be worth it to get a lawyer and get him to plead them down in bulk.  They'll probably throw most of them out and leave you with just a couple.  He can probably eliminate most of the points too, especially if you can point to a certain situation that has been corrected as the cause.

Was the car you were driving also uninsured?  If so, you're fucked.

I don't think a lawyer is really necessary to explain his situation.  It's traffic court, not a murder.

You'd be right if he had a single ticket but he has a shit ton of tickets.  A lawyer can make it easier to get a "volume discount."  Plus a lot of points could accumulate from all those tickets.  This is a case where a lawyer could be very helpful.

That's good news.  A lawyer who knows the judges could probably make your problem go away without you getting whacked with too many points or heavy fines.

I plan on just explaining to the DA why I was driving it and showing documentation I took it off the road after I fixed my truck.  What happens happens.  I don't think there will be any points.  I just wanna get this shit over with.

I guess it comes down to cost/benefit.  Depending on how much the tickets add up to, dropping another $1-2k for a lawyer may not be a net positive.  Say his fines add up to $1000...if he pays a lawyer $1k to represent him and the charges/fines are chopped in half, he's still out $1,500, which is more than having the whole book thrown at him.  Or he can just plead himself and likely get a similar drop in charges.

I think he can probably get a lawyer for a lot less than $1-2K.  Some will represent you for $250.  That could be well worth it given the number of tickets.  I get the impression Cale needs some help with issues like this.  They seem to blow up and get out of hand for him.

I got stopped for running a red light a few weeks ago.  Only thing was I didn't run a red light.  When he told me why he stopped me I told him he was wrong, it was another vehicle that came up fast - no ticket but I wasn't getting one anyway, even if I had run the light.  Where I give the cop credit though, is a about two weeks later I saw him and he admitted that he was wrong.  He'd gone back and looked at the video and saw I didn't run the light but another vehicle coming up fast behind me did.

I got pulled over for 55 in a 35 a few weeks ago. Thing is I was still in the 55 zone, and he passed me coming the opposite direction about 50 yards before the 35 mph zone. I of course stated "no comment" when he asked me why I was driving so fast. He comes back and says he's going to be a nice guy and let me guy so as to not ruin my weekend riding (I was all loaded up with bike and gear). Right - what LEO lets a speeder doing 20 over go? He realized he was wrong IMO though I don't blame him for stating so.

Did the cop know you worked as a prosecutor when he pulled you over?   Did he recognize you or did you have to tell him?

So you were really going only 55 mph in a 55 mph zone?  I'm severely disappointed.   :evildude:

Knock on wood, but Waze has totally killed any ticket potential.  Cops show up on there within seconds of hiding.  I drive 33 miles each way for work, but they hide in the same 5 spots.  Playing the game is easy.

The 4Runner isn't good for anything more than 80-85 really, but the S2000 screams the whole way to work.

I downloaded Waze due to this post. Wow, it's like a very polished and updated Google Maps. I like it.

Plus, my Subaru has the perfect spot for my phone to sit in and view the screen so I can leave it running and glance at it while driving.

My phone is mounted near my right hand in both cars.  I run it non stop, even around town.  Don't have to worry about tickets anymore.
