Hmmm. Maybe they're trying to shift the sizes and numbers around. CX-70 upsizes to the the 90 is now, 90 upsizes to something larger. Whatever's below the 70 upsizes.

Idfk. Mazda doesn't have a true large/full sizer do they?

Except the 90 is brand new

C&D can't seem to comprehend it either

Weird.  I'm not very up to date on Mazderps, so this is all news to me.

I'm not sure Mazda will survive. I like their cars: great dynamics, quality interiors and good reliability. The CX-5 sells well but is very long in the tooth. Their other cars are a sales rounding error. Where are hybrids & BEVs?

Mazda's infamously dire dealers are going to have a tough time selling the CX-70: conveying the message that Mazda's idea of competing in the insanely popular 2-row midsize SUV segment, is to sell a povvo version of their three-row flagship.

(PS - I had an email from C&D saying their print publication cadence is down to bimonthly: decades of 12 per year, then 10, now 6. )

ICE engines are selling well as options decrease. Mazda's sales were up ~20% last year as a result.  The MX5 also had its best sales in many years despite no model changes.

The CX70 debacle though is just a huge mistake.

Mazda has been looking very exposed since cutting ties with Ford.  Toyota owns just over 5% of Mazda shares with Japanese banks owning another 20%.  Forging closer ties with Toyota may be Mazda's best chance of avoiding insolvency in the long term.

Quote from: GoCougs on November 06, 2022, 04:03:51 PMI've always struggled with smudged windshields (inside) that never that never get fully clean. At best, one just ends up moving the smudges around. It's a PITA in the PNW where for 6 months of the year it's rainy and dark from ~4 pm to ~8am. Simple, and probably should have thought of it, but here's the hack:

Reviving this just to say I looked up through the glass sunroof on the Infiniti and it was almost opaque with haze on the inside. This technique worked perfectly to fix it. I was so pleased I cleaned the Mazda's too .

Ford has a winner. I've seen dozens of Mavericks on the streets, and one Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Why can't Chevy make one? Call it La Camina. Chevy doesn't make sense now. They have so many of the same CUV, but in slightly different sizes (and so many colors!).

It seems like Jeep needs to do something about their key fob design.

I've had multiple Jeeps, relatively new/low miles, where the "Key Fob Battery Low" message comes up on the gauge cluster screen.

Like today...a 2022 Grand Cherokee with 28k miles. And the fob battery is already low?  I can't remember the last time I had to replace a key fob battery.

Perhaps Jeep's fobs are doing something within the fob that causes them to drain so quickly?  Has pretty standard functions...lock/unlock, tailgate, remote start, and alarm.

Naw, it's just the owners. 84.7% of Jeep owners are dimwits.

They are active keys - so constantly transmitting something that the car is looking for in order to boot up computer systems faster.  It is annoying, batteries need to be replaced yearly

My car makes so many whizzs and whirrs when I walk near it, sometimes it's a bit annoying when I'm just in the garage working on something else and not touching the car.

Makes sense, I figured it was something like that. Seems a bit unnecessary...but, any idea what "systems" the car is looking to boot up faster?

Point is, just about every car today has proximity built into the fob.  Jeeps seem to be the only ones I've seen that have excessive battery drain.

Great looking and driving cars with fewer and fewer sales year after year.

Stellantis seems to have threw in the towel on them a few years ago as they go all in on EV.
