The Accord had trouble starting yesterday evening after having sat maybe 14 hours. I don't want to know what it'd do in sub zero weather for a few days. :mask:

My Accord started just fine in subzero weather. My cousin's 2002 LX lives in Windsor and starts up just fine too. Yours is just a POS.

Yeah, the Accord with the Camry transmission, right? :wtf:

Whatever the hell happened with that car, it happened after I sold it. I got it with a dying transmission, and when the tranny quit, I gave it to my cousin. End of story for me. FWIW, my cousin said it was a Corolla transmission.

Sure sure, blame it on the "cousin"...

How old is the battery?  And what is the CCA rating?  My car came with a puny little battery (like 300 CCA) and combined with age, it was really straining to start as temperatures dropped below freezing.  Swapped in a stronger battery and it cranks over like a champ even in the single digits.

What did you get?  I'm due for a battery, and I would think your car and my car will take similar sized ones.

4-5 years old I think. I don't know what the rating is though. It took 2-3 seconds to crank over and it wasn't even cold out.

I don't know what MX got, but I'd recommend a Dynacell.  The warranty is the best in the business; 100% refund regardless of age up to 5 years.  :praise:  Plus they consistently run strong in everything I've seen them in.

That's pretty much the normal lifespan for an automotive battery, you may want to replace that as preventative maintenance just to avoid a tow bill.

Secret Chimp

I've had to start twisting the key to start maybe 3-6 times to get the starter to start moving every few days now when it's really really cold out (i.e. between 7 and 25). Otherwise, once it actually starts cranking, it just creeer-kee-kee-BROOM like it always does.

Autocraft, I think.  It was like 600-650 CCA.  I went to the local Advanced Auto and I think that was the only brand they had that fit in my car.  Not sure what the quality and longevity is on them, but I think it's got at least a 2 year warranty.

My Accord actually had trouble starting to a while ago. I prolonged it so long that I eventually couldn't even start my car one day. I was surprised my battery got so weak fast.

But at least it starts great now. Never struggles. I left my car for a week without driving it in the cold this winter and it started fine  :ohyeah:
