Explorer! Or, An SUV that I can sleep in.

I bought one! It's a 1999 with 133 kmiles, a five-speed (whoa, right?), and it's getting a Clifford sticker. After I get done with the usual new used car maintenance and a few repairs (cruise control, rear wiper arm is bent, tach only works when it wants to), I'm totally putting a Flowmaster on. It also needs tires...   :partyon:

Anyone want to buy a nice Ranger?

They (the internets) tell me I can fit a 31 inch tire on there without any modification. That should be enough of a "lift." I could get another 2 inches cheaply, but I don't think I need that much.

Nice color, BTW.

Oh yeah, that thing is screaming for some proper tires.  And the suspension lift should be super cheap.  Add-a-leafs in the rear, and just crank up the torsion bars in the front, if I'm not mistaken.

Nice find though, it's awesome!

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

Add-a-leafs or shackles, yeah. Tires first, then lift if necessary. I won't be able to stick 32" tires with anything less than 4" of lift, which I ain't doing, so 'll be safe with 31s.

Wild countries are nice.  Also, some of the guys here have remarked at how silent some of the Goodyear Wranglers are on the highway.  I think they have some Silent Armor marketing thing going on.

So, you're going to be sleeping on all those unidentified brown and white stains, then? I feel I must start a stain speculation thread and discuss this issue at length.

Grats on the purchase.  Those things are very rare here.  They tried to peddle them for a coupla years, but didn't sell many.  Can't get them anymore.

Yeah, Ford tried shifting Explorers in the UK and Europe from 1997-2001.  European shoppers stayed away in droves, proving Europeans have good taste!
