Cars we can all agree on?

Chris V's Miata thread got me thinking.  When he asked if he should buy a sweet looking N3 Miata, every respondent said "Hell Yeah" or something to that effect.  And that, I find, is somewhat remarkable.

After all, this board has hosted some heated debates over the years.  Democrat versus Republican, religious versus atheist, boxers versus briefs, Original Recipe versus Extra Crispy and so on.  So, considering the wide spectrum of beliefs and opinions expressed here, I find it heartwarming there is something we can all agree on.  Namely, the awesomeness of the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

But are there any others?  Is there another car in existence worthy of a unanimous CarSPIN Seal of Approval?  If so, what can it be?

Probably not.

The Miata is in a class all it's own with NO competition.

Besides, anyone who is an enthusiast should see the miata as one of the last/best option for the common everyman driving enthusiast.

I don't adore the Mazda6, and I know the Mazda3 has at least one or two detractors on here as well.

The only people who have anything bad to say about the 3 or 6 have never driven them.  You may not adore the 6, but you do like it, right?

SVT666

And just because one or two don't like a car doesn't mean it shouldn't be included. The overwhelming majority do. Take the Miata for example. I don't like it. I never have. But most enthusiasts love it and therefore, it is included.

If the new more aggressively styled Miata comes with the 2.5L, then I will finally be on board with that car.

I believe 2o6 was a Mazda3 detractor after a test drive, but I could be remembering wrong. And fair, I do like the 6, just find it overrated. (The 2016 model with an upgraded interior should make the high-end versions a lot more competitive, too.)

2o6 doesn't count because his opinion is always the opposite of the overwhelming majority of enthusiasts.

Morris Minor

I rented a Mazda 6 earlier this year. Assumed it was to be another yawn-a-mile appliance. Then, a few minutes out of the rental lot, I sat up and really took notice. Holy shit this is a superb car.

What? Everyone liked the first gen SC, not that many people liked the second gen (I did, however)

What? I liked it. It drives sharp and has a high quality interior and attractive pricing.

I just didn't think it was all that. (It's sharp, but not the damn second coming that the enthusiast crowd make it to be, and the interior accommodations are tight)

The Fiesta ST is the problem I have with the Mazda 3. A Mazda 3 equipped the way I would want it to be would be the same price as a Fiesta ST which is 1000% more engaging and has roughly the same interior space.

I like it, but it's a bit too refined for my taste in 2 seaters.  Besides, the first time I tried to get into one I hit my head on the top of the windshield.
